Job Summary

Bring your financial expertise to this unique opportunity

The purpose of the Senior Policy Analyst is to provide leadership, expertise and support for the development, implementation and maintenance of government’s financial policy and legislative framework. The analyst develops financial management policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain government’s financial management framework. The analyst also provides financial policy advice and makes recommendations for corrective action when policies are not followed.

Job Requirements:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards a CPA designation plus a minimum of three (3) years *recent related experience, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education (a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration or a related discipline) and *recent related experience may be considered.
  • *Recent related experience must include the following and must have occurred within the last ten (10) years:
    • Policy development, analysis and interpretation.
    • Managing complex projects.
    • Providing policy advice and recommendations to executive.
    • Advising partners on policy requirements.
    • Verbal and written communications including presentations, chairing meetings, briefing notes, executive memos, Treasury Board submissions.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience supervising staff, including experience supervising in a virtual environment, and conducting performance reviews.


Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • A CPA designation.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
