This Opportunity

The Uncertified Employee Teaching on Call engages with students, provides temporary instructional support, manages classroom behaviour, and ensures a positive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being and safety of students, maintaining a functioning classroom, and ensuring every day is a valuable learning day for all students. As an Uncertified Employee Teaching on Call, your passion in classrooms and schools help create a compassionate learning space for students.

We are seeking skilled and dynamic individuals who possess strong communication and organizational skills to facilitate effective learning experiences for students. The ideal candidate will interact with and guide students of all ages, have excellent interpersonal skills, and have a genuine interest in supporting student learning. Uncertificated Employee Teaching on Call will be called to fill in absences after all available certified Teachers Teaching on Call (TTOC) have been dispatched. Short-notice availability is required.

As a member of the Abbotsford Teachers' Union (ATU), the pay rate for an Uncertified Employee Teaching on Call is $315.93 per day plus other payments as per BC Employment Standards Act.

Qualifications?

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution

Experience working or volunteering with children and youth

Ability to ensure safety and security of students

Effective interpersonal and communication skills
