Infrastructure & Capital Projects - Cost Analyst, COM

  • (Internal Title : Intermediate Cost Analyst)
    • Develop, implement, and maintain project cost control systems aligned with internal and client requirements
    • Manage and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) integrated with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
    • Track and analyze project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts
    • Provide accurate and timely cost forecasting including monthly Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
    • Highlight deviations, cost trends, and performance variances early to enable proactive decision-making
    • Support the development and ongoing management of the Project Risk Register in collaboration with the Risk Manager and functional leads
    • Analyze cost-related risks and quantify their potential financial impact (e.g., probabilistic cost risk analysis)
    • Perform Monte Carlo simulations and sensitivity analysis according to project guidelines
    • Support contingency planning by identifying areas of exposure and linking risk drivers to cost impacts
    • Assist with scenario planning and the development of mitigation strategies
    • Review and assess cost implications of change orders and design variations
    • Ensure all changes are properly documented, approved, and incorporated into cost forecasts and reports
    • Interface with schedulers to align cost and schedule data for integrated project reporting
    • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) implementation and tracking; analyze key performance indicators such as CPI, SPI, and TCPI
    • Ensure accurate alignment of progress measurement and cost reporting systems
    • Generate detailed cost reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders
    • Provide visibility on cost performance by work package, discipline, and contract
    • Facilitate monthly project reviews and participate in client reporting activities
    • Validate contractor cost reports, invoices, and payment applications
    • Track commitments and expenditures to ensure compliance with contractual terms and budgets
    • Participate in project close-out processes including final cost reconciliations, claims support, and lessons learned documentation
    • Complete any tasks assigned by manager or higher in an efficient and timely manner
  • Working Conditions
    • Hybrid with 3 days in office at Cambridge, Ontario
