Role description
Reporting to the Vice President, Port Infrastructures, the incumbent's role will be to participate in the development and implementation of the asset management program, in order to ensure its sustainability. He will be responsible for collecting and analyzing the results of various surveys and inputs in order to identify the main trends and actions to be undertaken for the port's various assets (quays, roads and medians, buildings, various structures, electrical systems, rail, rainwater/water systems). He will also participate in the development and maintenance of the asset management plan, and ensure that asset information is kept up to date. The Asset Manager will be responsible for developing strategies to optimize asset management and follow-up, while maximizing infrastructure investments. He/she will work closely with the Planning Manager.
Responsabilites
- Identifiying, prioritizing and updating infrastructure investment plans for all asset categories, as well as the schedule for surveys, inspections and follow-ups;
- Analyzing data and various expert reports with a critical and analytical mind;
- Developing and reviewing processes, methods and procedures, and recommending measures to improve and optimize asset management efficiency and effectiveness;
- Carrying out and supervising field inspections of assets to assess their overall condition, ensure the necessary follow-ups, identifying the expertise or interventions required, and coordinating the various expertise/contracts awarded by following up on financial, administrative, technical and quality aspects;
- Preparing tender documents for the various surveys and expert opinions required on assets (surveys, divers, drone surveys, consultants, etc.), and managing the tender process;
- Ensuring that assigned projects run smoothly and meet performance and quality objectives set by management;
- Ensuring the implementation and updating of methodology, processes and tools, as well as the development, dissemination and application of asset management best practices;
- Actively participating in the implementation of the IT Guide tool and maintain asset management information within this tool;
- Carrying out the analysis and processing of various statements, reports and appraisals, be critical of the inputs submitted, be able to comment, point out inconsistencies and request clarifications when required;
- Identifying actions to be taken and priorities, based on the synthesis of analyses carried out;
- Monitoring the performance of the asset management program, setting targets and key performance indicators to ensure continuous improvement in asset management;
- Defining, collecting and updating information on cost of ownership, life-cycle analysis, residual value, obsolescence, etc;
- Ensuring the updating of asset information in the Guide TI database (asset management software) and other platforms (GIS, port asset master plan, etc.). Centralizing asset information and act as information custodian.

You have...
- A good knowledge of building codes;
- A very good capacity for analysis and synthesis in order to monitor asset status;
- A proficiency in the Office suite and MS Project;
- An ability to manage several files simultaneously and to prioritize;
- A significant experience in consulting engineering or similar functions;
- A relevant experience in municipal or marine asset management.
