About Us

The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Atkins Realis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Powers Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Powers CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.

Reporting to the Material Lead, the Material Coordinator is responsible to coordinate and facilitate the purchase of commodities, equipment, and services for the Bruce Power Nuclear site.

What You'll Do Here

Primary responsibility is the preparation and consolidation of material requisitions for a wide range of materials and services including Non-Nuclear and Nuclear safety related materials & components. This may include but not limited to: plate, structural steel, pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, weld consumables, electrical components & supplies, civil materials, tooling, consumables, chemicals, calibrated equipment, lifting and rigging devices, and personal protective wear
Prepare purchase requisitions and compile related documentation to ensure clarity and completeness with the description of materials, components or equipment, quantity, adherence to quality assurance requirements, inclusion of applicable special purchasing instructions, and ensuring authorization from the project management team to proceed with the purchase
Ensure proper drawings, technical specifications, and client specific requirements such as special purchasing instructions relating to CAT IDs are included with the SAP requisitions
This position will be the primary liaison to maintain effective communication between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure materials are purchased in accordance with the required quality requirements while adhering to the project schedule
Assist the Project team with the preparation of subcontract packages to be submitted to the Subcontracts Coordinator, as required
Work closely with the Procurement team to develop reports and provide updates to the project team as required regarding material deliveries, delivery costs, and expedite costs
Ensuring quality, reliability and responsiveness to operational needs which meet or exceed organizational expectations
Monitor material deliveries in order to assist the procurement and materials management teams identify critical deliveries to site
Expediting of materials as required
Receiving responsibilities to manage the flow of goods including receiving, inspection, inventory management, and performing the SAP goods receipt
Assist the Procurement Department with supplier recommendations for materials or services
Assist Materials Management Lead with material status updates
Other duties as assigned

What You Bring To The Team

2-5 years experience in the Nuclear Construction Industry in a procurement or project coordination role
Completion of Materials and Operations Management Program at the College or University Level an asset
Enrollment in or completion of SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred Microsoft Office Products
Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is critical
Good Interpersonal skills are essential
Customer service oriented
Familiarity with the Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements an asset
Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities, these may include but not be limited to: ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA-1, CSA N285.0, & CSA N286-05, and CSA Z299 Series requirements
Basic knowledge of other material or component codes and standards would be an asset. These may include but not be limited to: ASME Section II, ASTM, & CSA
Excellent planning, decision making, negotiation and time management skills are essential
Knowledge of SAP would be an asset
