The project Controls Manager will be responsible to set project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a business unit or Project Execution Plan, as well as implement tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on earned value management, cashflow, cost, revenue, forecasting and schedule for projects.

What Youll Do Here:

  • Provide guidance to project controls and operations/project management teams to recognize emerging issues, leverage lessons learned and drive toolset/process adoption, ensure accuracy of key project metrics in a timely manner, and adherence to corporate guidelines and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Operations and Finance personnel to develop methodologies that will enhance accuracy of project level financial forecasting.
  • Attend and contribute to Handover and Kick-Off meetings.
  • Provide project controls input on the commercial, administrative and reporting requirements during project setup.
  • Oversee scheduling functions to ensure projects meet standards and target completion dates.
  • Conduct detailed review and analysis of project performance control and reporting to understand and articulate key metrics and trends.
  • Ensure management is provided with timeline review and progress of all projects and activity including completion of monthly project status report and forecasting reporting and endorse suggested corrective actions to maintain the project within planned cost and schedule.
  • Oversee and support project change management, including subcontractor claims, change requests, claims and dispute resolution.
  • Identify commercial risks and develops mitigation measures to ensure project control deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities of Project Controls improvement for management review and consideration
  • Develop, update and manage Risk Mitigation Plan
  • Create and maintain a diverse culture.
  • Guide and mentor direct reports.
  • Key partner to Estimators, Project Managers, Operations teams and Senior Leadership.
  • Communicates effectively with external clients, partners, vendors and subcontractors as required.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience and ability in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of the Earned Value Management principles.
  • Ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
  • Leadership and team building skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead a project controls team.
  • Proven strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly identify and articulate issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Proven problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and customer focused.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of SAP and required project controls software which may include Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.
