Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist-Electrical will be responsible for preparing and supporting the preparation of QA/QC documentation. In addition, the Quality Specialist shall lead the development of inspection, examination and testing techniques and processes while engaging specialist suppliers.

What is the Opportunity?

  • Establish and maintain QA/QC documentation.
  • Prepare and revise Construction Inspection and Test Plans
  • Conduct quality review of RFQ documentation and contracts
  • As required, participate in internal and supplier audits, and perform source surveillance.
  • Support QA/QC activities for Fabrication and Construction
  • Interface with and support strategic suppliers in the development of techniques and processes.
  • Conduct quality review of supplier documentation, including Travelers, Inspection and Test Plans, and associated documentation.
  • The Quality Specialist shall,
  • Provide quarterly and annual trend analysis data supporting Quality Assurance Program trend report.
  • As required, assist in QA/QC, Codes, Standards related training activities
  • Assist in Quality and Manufacturing Engineering activities including continual improvements.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A graduate of a technology program at the College Level. Preferably a graduate of a recognized university engineering program. Related field Electrical Engineering.
  • Five years experience in QA/QC related to the Nuclear Industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing and inspection techniques related to the construction and fabrication industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Experience and knowledge with Nuclear Codes & Standards:
    • ASME Section III
    • CSA N286
    • CSA N285
    • CSA N299
  • Familiar with the following Codes and Standards
    • CSA C22.1
    • CSAC22.2
    • Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) 28th edition/2021
    • The following Certifications would be an asset:
    • Journeyperson electrician valid Certificate of Qualification
    • Certified Engineering Technologist or C. Tech registered with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists
