Drive financial evaluations of new and existing airline relationships to maximize revenues associated with Air Canada's partnership portfolio and in accordance with corporate objectives for profitability, growth, and market position.
Responsibilities:
- Complete all network, revenue, and profit evaluations of alliance partnerships.
- Participate as the key alliance valuation representative in conjunction with Network and Finance in all current and future international joint ventures, from the joint venture development process to ongoing management of the partner relationship.
- Develop and maintain financial settlement models for new and existing joint ventures. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build realistic simulations of future settlements.
- Identify and evaluate new partnership opportunities with recommendations to support international expansion and growth.
- Create financial KPIs to track partnership performance and help identify shortcomings and potential opportunities.
- Complete all partnership analysis and reporting on quarterly basis, ensuring high level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with Network and Partnership Directors on all valuations to ensure a clear communication of goals, alignment of strategy and effort, and sharing of market knowledge.
- Work closely with Revenue Management, Finance, Network Planning, IT, Legal, and other stakeholders as required to complete a comprehensive partnership valuation.
- Monitor and analyze other airlines capacity, network and schedules to develop recommendations to enhance existing AC partnerships.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Sell alliance ideas and plans to internal teams, including senior management.
- Undergraduate degree with a focus on Business or Finance.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience with minimum of 2 years in the commercial branch of an airline, transportation or travel industry.
- Highly analytical, strong quantitative skills with an attention to detail and the ability to take large amounts of data and synthesize it into decision variables.
- Demonstrated ability to form concepts, solutions and visions as an individual and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in complex environments. Willing to take leadership role in driving initiatives, working across organizations, and structuring approaches to new opportunities.
- Ability to effectively and simultaneously manage to completion a large volume of priorities. Solid project management skills.
- Strong team orientation with the ability to work independently.
- Effective negotiation skills and high degree of diplomacy.
- Ability to develop and implement creative solutions and influence others in their adoption.
- Proven ability to recognize and take action on business cases around strategic partnerships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in presenting and speaking publicly to represent Company interests.
- High degree of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Power BI (optional)
- Robust understanding of the key functions within the commercial branch of an airline.
