Air Canada, ranked among the top five most attractive companies to work for in Canada, is seeking a Procurement Operations Specialist within the Strategic Procurement group, who will be based at our Montreal Headquarters.

Strategic Procurement (SP) is comprised of several Category Management teams and a Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE). The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to a broad range of procurement activities. Given the cross-functional nature of procurement at Air Canada, this opportunity will provide interaction with key stakeholders in many parts of the organization.

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Procurement Operations - Supplier Enablement and will be responsible for maintaining master data integrity, supporting supplier enablement activities, and assisting with the PCard program's administrative tasks. The Air Canada Supplier Enablement team is responsible for enabling and assisting Canadian and USA suppliers so they can transact with Air Canada on Ariba, our procurement tool.

Key Accountabilities

Supplier Enablement Activities
  • Identify supplier resources for enablement activities.
  • Identify enablement types for suppliers and assign buying channels by collaborating with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance to Supplier Policy
  • Communicate enablement activities with suppliers and internal stakeholders as required
  • Conduct training activities for suppliers and ensure all training material is kept updated and current
  • Responsible for all supplier support questions regarding enablement status, online access, and any other business-related questions
  • Support internal stakeholders with the enablement activities of their suppliers and answer all questions as needed
  • Develop tools to improve enablement process and activities
  • Support enablement wave plans for targeted suppliers
  • Prepare and deliver updates on supplier enablement status
  • Assist in building, configuring, and testing during supplier implementation and online integration
  • Coach and assist other Specialists as needed
Supplier Registration and Qualification Activities
  • Create and maintain supplier questionnaire in Ariba Supplier Lifecycle Performance to ensure suppliers have valid and proven qualifications to perform mandate and comply with Air Canada requirements
  • Maintain supplier hierarchy and supplier records
  • Communicate supplier information to affected stakeholders
  • Support supplier in the registration and qualification process
  • Conduct training activities and ensure training material is kept updated and current
PCard Program Administration
  • Review and identify potential suppliers for the Pcard Program
  • Ensure successful payments are executed with the supplier using the pcard/vcard
  • Cover and provide necessary support of the PCardHelp mailbox
Master Data
  • Ensure master data integrity in SAP Ariba as well as maintaining the processes to support the data quality.
  • Identify areas for data quality improvements and help to resolve master data quality problems.
  • Maintain supplier status and update supplier contact information in SAP Ariba as required
Air Canada's Online Self-Service Buying Guide
  • Support changes to the Guided Buying and Aeronet Portal: add/modify content.
  • Develop and manage the content for the portal's self-service help guides.
  • Execute the resolution of stakeholder / vendor questions related to the online self-service buying guide.
Catalogs:
  • Support the overall category content and catalog enablement strategy for the online buying guide.
  • Support the creation and implementation of catalogs, which includes collecting catalog information, reviewing and receive sign-off for the catalog content, and loading information into the system.
  • Support the development of training requirements and train suppliers in the catalog enablement process.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree is an asset or equivalent combination of training and experience in procurement, customer service or supply chain
  • Experience using procurement technology, specifically SAP Ariba is a plus
  • Experience in catalog and content optimization is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications - strong Excel skills is a must
  • Experience with an internal corporate credit card program is a plus
  • Ability to exercise independent problem solving and decision making with initiative and self-coordination
  • Experience working in a fast-paced work environment where attention to detail is critical
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as needed to achieve departmental goals
  • Demonstrated customer focus aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • French and English - oral and written
