Description
Enhancing community care options for Albertans continues to be a key priority for Recovery Alberta. Our goal is to provide high-quality diverse community, home, and individual Mental Health and Addiction services and to support the long-term mental health and wellness of Mental Health and Addiction clients and their families. To support this goal, the North Zone Mental Health and Addiction Services (MHA) department has an exciting opportunity for an MHA Recovery Worker with the Peace River Mental Health and Addiction Services (Child/Youth and Adult). This position serves clients in Area 2 (Peace River, Fairview, Manning and surrounding areas) who have an identified mental illness, through a Recovery Psychosocial Rehabilitative framework that promotes client respect, autonomy, health, and improved quality of life. As a Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Worker you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of community-based MHA services. You will provide hands-on, in-person support and interventions to Mental Health and Addiction clients and their families, as identified in the client's individualized recovery plan. Your services may include supporting or teaching activities of daily living, engaging clients in recreation and social activities, improving access to services/appointments by providing transportation and working with the Clinical Therapist or Addictions Counsellor, common resources and agencies to coordinate services for clients. As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.
Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
