Reporting to the Healthcare Manager at the Peace River Correctional Center, the incumbent will require a high degree of critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team to support the program. They will require advanced or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices, or initiatives within the department. This position is responsible for supporting and organizing several related activities to ensure the goals and objectives of the team are accomplished. The incumbent will be required to provide a high standard of interpersonal communication and must demonstrate confidentially, flexibility, and initiative. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Current UNA employees who accept an offer of employment issued after July 1, 2024, will not have any displacement rights as the result of the transfer order.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

The applicant must demonstrate the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions and changing work demands. Have strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking. Have excellent time management and interpersonal skills. Have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Complete accurate data entry and have a keen attention to detail. Have at least intermediate computer and keyboarding skills with proficiency in various computer applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel, Markview, ESP, SharePoint, Epeople, Insite. Have the ability to ambulate and move quickly in response to emergency situations.

Medical office certificate, Unit Clerk course, or equivalent training and experience. Clerical experience in an acute, fast-paced, healthcare environment. Excellent communication, telephone, and organizational skills. Must have a positive attitude, professional image, exceptional customer service ability, be a strong team player, problem solver, and flexibility to adapt to change. Experience in an addiction and mental health setting, preferably an acute care environment, is preferred.
