We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Administrative Support III for our Edmonton Zone Diagnostic Imaging Central Scheduling Team! This position is accountable to the Manager of EZ Central Scheduling, Projects, and Initiatives for the effective performance of numerous clerical duties relative to the scheduling of Diagnostic Imaging exams at sites across the Edmonton Zone. As an Administrative Support III in this department, you will be required to provide accurate and efficient transcription of Diagnostic Imaging requisitions while assembling the required documentation for exam screening, protocolling, and prioritization. The Administrative Support in this position will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks to support patient appointment notification by processing physical paper mail, managing faxes, and communicating with patients in a timely and accurate manner with various dates, times and instructions related to their Diagnostic Imaging exam. A high degree of tact, diplomacy and patience is required as many of these patients can be in a stressed and unwell state. Accuracy is required to ensure that order entry is completed according to provincial guidelines and that all pertinent information is entered, relayed and understood by patients.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Medical Terminology Certification. Physical requirement to this position - must be able to lift 50 lbs. Minimum of two (2) years of medical office experience required. Minimum of one (1) year recent Diagnostic Imaging clerical experience required. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging procedures is essential. Word processing experience with MS Office Suite required. Must be cognizant of all legal regulations and AHS policies as they apply to Diagnostic Imaging (for example, HIA and FOIP) Proficient in keyboarding - minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Experience with a computerized patient information system required - Connect Care experience preferred Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen, comprehend, and orally respond to or relay information, directions, or questions in person, over the phone, or in writing, in an accurate, clear, and concise manner. Must be able to work at a fast pace to consistently produce a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time at the computer. Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks, while adapting to changing circumstances and interruptions.

Medical Office Assistant certificate preferred. Administrative support experience in a hospital setting preferred. Experience with an imaging archive (PAC’s) system preferred.
