You must be committed to our Core Values to pursue this opportunity in our Systemic Therapy Unit at the Cross Cancer Institute Successful candidate of the Administrative Support III position is responsible for delivering high quality patient care and customer service. It is essential that in this position the representative must be able to make independent decisions, work under minimal supervision, able to handle conflict and difficult situations, as well as have a high level of problem-solving skills to meet the needs of our patients and clinicians. You will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients, and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. This role schedules and manages all incoming Procedure, Hormone injection and Chemotherapy treatment requests in the Connect Care booking system. On top of processing physician orders, you are responsible for coordinating appointments with all other departments on site, answer internal and external patient, visitor and other staff calls, complete registration for all patients, print of patient wrist bands, help balance nursing assignments, notifying all newly diagnosed cancer patients as well as any current patients with any upcoming appointments etc. You must accomplish the above stated tasks with professionalism and while demonstrating our Mission and Core Values.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Completion of a Unit clerk/Medical Office administration required from a recognized school. Computer keyboarding skills and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to prioritize and manage stress in a fast-paced work environment. Must be able to have difficult conversations with patients, other staff and visitors. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Bending, lifting, walking long distances at times as well as long periods of sitting is required. Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to work.

Oncology and connect care experience an asset and preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with previous unit clerk experience in a health care setting.
