The HR Assistants (Administrative Support IV) in the HR Administration Department holds a highly specialized position within a fast paced, complex environment, responsible for administering, and processing employee life events in compliance with Alberta Health Services, Alberta Precision Laboratories, Carewest, Covenant, and Capital Care Collective Agreements and Management Out of Scope Guidelines. This role demands extensive knowledge of Alberta Health Services, Alberta Precision Laboratories, Carewest, Covenant, and Capital Care policies, procedures, compensation programs, collective agreements, benefit contracts, and various technological systems. The Administrative Support IV works within a collaborative team to manage tight deadlines for over 140,000 employees, requiring a full year of training and experience to achieve proficiency in all responsibilities. Primary Focus: Reporting to the Team Lead of HR administration provides expert advice and guidance to Managers, Employees, Resolutions Specialists & Coordinators and HRBP Analysts and HRBP Advisors. Proficient assessment and processing of complex and varied HR transactions within established time and quality standards while confirming data accuracy, maintaining the appropriate controls for audit verification resulting in financial integrity. Ensuring the accurate processing of employee HR data in PeopleSoft, which includes administration of salary, benefits, pension, payroll deductions, resignations, and retirements. All work is performed independently; decisions, advice and recommendations are made based on knowledge of all policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines that tend to be in constant flux. Managing the workload to ensure that the requests are all in for accurate and timely pay cycles.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with a strong aptitude for analytical tasks, including the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information in accordance with various collective agreements and AHS policies and procedures. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information within the framework of multiple collective agreements and AHS policies and procedures. Knowledge of Human Resources, leave of absence, occupational health and safety, payroll, and related processes in a diverse health care environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Proficient in client communications via telephone and email, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage and address inquiries. Experience working within large, multi-union organizations. Demonstrated knowledge and application of integrated human resources information systems, like PeopleSoft.

The ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information within the framework of multiple collective agreements and Alberta Health Services, Alberta Precision Laboratories, Carewest, Capital Care, and Covenant Health policies and procedures. Experience in Query Reporting, Recruitment Management System (Taleo), Alberta Blue Cross flex system, MS Outlook, and PeopleSoft is an asset.
