This job might be for you if: You pay close attention to detail You think on your feet and learn quickly Adapt to change easily and professionally Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public You like helping people and going “above and beyond” Reporting to the Supervisor of Administrative Services Ambulatory Care, the Administrative Support IV is responsible for managing the flow of information in clinic and providing clerical support to all clinic staff. Duties include but are not limited to registering patients; scheduling appointments (virtual and in person); managing schedules/patient/recall lists; answering phone calls, transferring, relaying messages, and providing clerical support to a multidisciplinary team. As a front-line contact, the Administrative Support IV is required to greet and direct visitors, patients, and staff in a professional manner and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask. The Administrative Support IV must demonstrate confidentiality, flexibility, initiative, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to successfully complete projects under tight timelines with frequent interruptions.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

Completion of Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Completion of Unit clerk course required from a recognized school. Ability to prioritize in a fast, always changing environment. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to handle lifting and carrying of multiple supplies. Long distance walking may be required depending on desk assignment. Connect Care experience an asset. Ability to have difficult conversations. Preference will be given to candidates with previous Oncology Unit clerk experience in a healthcare setting.
