You’re an experienced rural healthcare provider and leader, who has excellent problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal skills. Alberta Health Services (AHS) is currently seeking someone like you who can provide direction, team leadership, and organization to the interdisciplinary teams of the Acute Care, and Emergency departments as the new Care Manager in the lovely northern Alberta town of Fairview. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As the Care Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for providing effective leadership and strategic direction in the delivery of safe and high-quality patient and family-centered care services. You will be making front-line unit-level decisions, providing clinical guidance and contributing to the achievement of department goals, AHS vision, and mission. Moreover, you will be responsible for facilitating quality and process improvement initiatives, fostering and maintaining dynamic and engaging teamwork and collaborative relationship with key stakeholders.

Active registration with applicable Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in clinical practice required and within the last three (3) in a leadership role. Previous experience in acute and/or emergency required. Equivalences of education and experience may be considered.

Evidence of initiative, flexibility, attention to details and creativity. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, physicians, community agencies, professional colleagues, volunteers, and the community. Evidence of strong commitment to excellence in patient care. Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.

Baccalaureate degree preferred; however, skills and experience relevant to the position will be considered.
