Reporting to the Director, Central and South Zone Scheduling Shared Services, the Business Operations and Performance Specialist is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the facilitation of new client implementations into current system applications which includes associated business processes, education and scheduling best practice. This position coordinates the set-up of the new client areas in multiple software applications in addition to any changes required by existing clients, in partnership with the Provincial Scheduling Shared Services (PSSS) operations teams. Key responsibilities include providing support, consultation, and facilitation to unit managers and employees regarding the steps and milestones that must be achieved during the implementation of the scheduling service. Ensuring that all implementation tasks are identified and completed in the appropriate sequence. Assisting with the assessment of new and existing client needs as it pertains to the integration of the staffing service into the client business. Coordinating, updating and maintaining all related project plans and documentation. Providing ad-hoc trouble shooting/problem solving and education to Scheduling Shared Service employees and clients. Working closely with various PSSS operational teams, client managers and staff to help support/facilitate the integration of any business operation/performance change into the client business. Gathering data for analysis, providing client business information to PSS teams and providing support to scheduling shared service frontline leadership and staff in effectively implementing all PSSS initiatives.

As a Coordinator II, you will require advanced or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex projects, procedures, practices or initiatives within a department, program or business unit.

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.

3-5 years of experience in staff scheduling in a health care environment required. Experience with ESP and/or WFM scheduling software required. Proficient in the use of computers and intermediate/advanced knowledge of Windows, Outlook and Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint required. Experience documenting and analyzing business processes. Experience working with unionized groups and multiple management levels.

Knowledge of Alberta Health Services’ environment and staffing practices preferred. 2+ years of experience providing/facilitation of training to adults preferred. Knowledge/Understanding of Prosci/ADKAR change management methodology an asset.
