If so, the Foothills Medical Centre, Facilities, Maintenance, & Engineering (FM&E) team has an amazing opportunity for an Electronics Technologist who can display their journeyman skills in facility operations, while offering team-focused commitment and a positive attitude. This position performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties in accordance with best practices, procedures and safety standards. This role includes the opportunity to recommend the design of new systems on projects and the replacement, modification, and major repair of existing systems.
As an Electronics Technologist II, you will perform maintenance and repair duties on a variety of complex non-clinical electronic systems in accordance with manuals, specifications and AHS standards and practices. You will be responsible for complex non-clinical electronic systems and will exercise independence when completing daily responsibilities of the position.
Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Certificate in one of the following trades: Electrician, Electronics Technician or Instrument Technician from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training; or completion of a two-year diploma of related technology (Electronic Technologist).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment, preferably in a healthcare setting. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and calibrating complex electronic systems. Strong knowledge of electronic equipment, programming, repair, install and replacement of healthcare systems used such as Nurse Call, AMAG, CCTV, PTS, Macerators, MDRD equipment, OR tables, etc. Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with hospital safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality control practices. Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly in high-pressure situations. Strong analytical thinking for assessing equipment performance and identifying solutions. Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with healthcare staff and vendors. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment. Manual dexterity and attention to detail for delicate repairs and precise calibrations.
Proficiency in network equipment used to support medical operations. Experience with advanced diagnostic and calibration software tools. Experience leading or coordinating maintenance projects, and communication with stakeholders. Experience in a hospital or large healthcare facility with a focus on regulatory compliance and patient safety standards will be given preference.
