Alberta Children’s Hospital, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is looking for someone like you for the role of Clinical Nurse Educator. Alberta Children’s Hospital has been caring for children and families from across Western Canada for over 100 years and is a nationally and internationally recognized leader in pediatric medicine. Calgary is among the top ranked cities globally for its livability, diversity, and cleanliness, and offers an outstanding lifestyle located just 1.5 hours’ drive from Banff National Park. This exciting opportunity within the Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Service (CHAPS) will help support and enable fellow nursing staff caring for pediatric patients with life-limiting illnesses and supporting families. In this role, you will mentor, teach and support nursing staff in assessment, skills, and communication, and develop resources that can be used not only at the hospice, but across the Calgary Zone and Southern Alberta. This includes things like RN and HCA orientation, planning educational days or opportunities, a CHAPS curriculum, individualized learning plans, and participating in research opportunities as they arise, participating on a variety of committees to ensure an evidence-based, patient-first approach. It is an exciting time to join the team as the province works to re-imagine and re-vitalize Alberta’s healthcare and ensure Albertan patients, parents, and families have access to the acute care and supports they need.
