Vermilion’s Home Care team is looking for a compassionate and caring Licensed Practical Nurse. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in your community by collaborating in the delivery of holistic, client and family center care. Working within the full scope of practice and according to home care policies and procedures, you will need strong assessment skills and clinical expertise to deliver quality nursing care within the catchment area of Vermilion Home care from the Saskatchewan border to Innisfree and from the county of Wainwright border to Tullaby Lake. Also, it will entail wound care and Ostomy management, as well as drains, pics, vacs etc. although full training provides so prior experience is desirable but not essential. Vermilion is a thriving community of 4150, approximately 60 kilometers west of Lloydminster and 192 kilometers east of Edmonton. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Previous experience in Home Care or Acute Care within the last 5 years. Valid driver's license and a vehicle are required.

Knowledge and experience with wound care, CVAD and palliative care.
