Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a regulated member of the inter-professional healthcare team who utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills to provide care to patients and families across the life span. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you will transition to Recovery Alberta. In accordance with the transition letter of understanding with UNA, current employees under the UNA Collective Agreement who accept an employment offer, issued after July 1, 2024, will not have any rights under Article 15: Layoff and Recall.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As Required
One to two years’ experience in an acute post-operative / surgical setting. Previous neuroscience nursing experience. Previous experience orientating new staff or preceptoring students. EKG/cardiac monitoring experience. Experience with Connect Care.
