Description
Hanna Health Centre is searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide care in a medical inpatient acute care setting. The Hanna Health Centre is comprised of a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 17-bed Acute Care ward, and a 61-bed Long Term Care facility. You must be able to work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team, have the ability to assess, coordinate, administer and evaluate provision of health services. Demonstration of current nursing knowledge, efficiency, communication and team skills are required. You will accept responsibility for continuing competences through ongoing professional development, including participation in education and orientation and continuous quality improvement activities. You will follow nursing standards/protocols as required. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the public for his/her own practice according to the standards defined by CLPNA. Hanna is located 199 km from Red Deer, with a population of 2,673. The town offers its residents a friendly, safe, and small-town lifestyle. Hanna residents benefit from a wide variety of amenities within the town, such as the Aquatic Centre for swimming, Centennial Place for fitness and other activities, and two lakes within 15 kilometers of the town where residents can waterski or enjoy the sandy beaches. There is also the Agri-Sports Complex where residents can skate, play hockey, or curl. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As Required.
Current certification in IV therapy. 2 years’ experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Preferred Connect Care training and emergency experience an asset.
