Viking Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for an LPN in their 16 bed Acute Care, Obstetrics and Emergency Department! Whether you live in Viking or the surrounding area, you will enjoy the rural agricultural setting of the Town of Viking, within Beaver County. Surrounded by grain and cereal crops, the agricultural landscape bursts with energy in the spring and the vibrant bright colours of harvest in the fall. In the winter months, the community bustles with sports and activities. This community, within reach of larger centres, is located south-east of Edmonton, Alberta on Highway 14 about 120 kms. Viking truly is the picture of a rural Alberta town as it continues to grow and thrive.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

As required.

NRP; LEAD II; CAM A; CAM B; TNCC; CTAS. 1 year experience in acute. 1 year experience in ED. Obstetrical experience in post-partum.
