Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works closely with an inter-professional healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with minor procedures, performing routine assessments, taking medical and biometric measurements, and participating in evaluation initiatives. The LPN will also coordinate patient recalls, develop care plans, communicate test results, support specialty clinics, manage patient panels, conduct screenings, locate patient health records, answer phones as needed, and schedule special appointments.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

2 - 3 year's experience with MedAccess. EMR. 2 - 3 years experience working in a primary care clinic setting.
