The Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) is a voluntary medical detoxification program that supports a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. Looking for experienced, caring, strength-based nursing staff to join our multidisciplinary team. This position supports completing the medical assessments on those presenting to our door seeking services, triaging the admissions, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, and adjusting the treatment as clinically indicated. You will be actively involved with the day-to-day medical/physical/educational needs of our clients providing client-centered, trauma informed, concurrent capable approach to ensure emotional and psychological support is provided. This position requires flexibility and responsiveness to an acute environment. Strong clinical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a diverse range of clients, their families, professionals and the public are a must. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
