Westlock is located in a rural setting, 70km north of Edmonton where Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team to provide family focused nursing care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have recent medical/surgical, emergency, and labor and delivery room experience, certification in a relevant specialty area, charge nurse experience, and leadership training. Westlock has an active OR with orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics and general surgery. Westlock is also an Acute Stroke Center for the north. Westlock Healthcare Center is a fast-paced environment and requires individuals with good communication and organizational skills. Relevant advanced certifications and professional development opportunities are available to successful candidates. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Ability to work shift rotation schedules. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Must be Team player and willing to train and assist in all areas of the hospital -Basic computer skills, good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development.

ACLS. TNCC. NRP. Experience with post-Partum Care. Emergency Room experience.
