Description
The Galahad Care Centre is a designated supportive living 4 dementia unit. They are looking to mentor and support a LPN to join it’s facility and work within Residential care setting. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Galahad is a hamlet in east-central Alberta, Canada within Flagstaff County. It is located just a few miles north of the Battle River valley on a former Canadian National rail line. Galahad represents the grace and beauty of Alberta heartland. Situated just north of the beautiful Battle River Valley it is centered between Killam and Castor on Highways 861 and 36. The community is graced with the riches of the soil and a wealth of resources, with vibrant oil, coal mining and electrical power production. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
This position requires frequent physical demands including walking, bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time. Transferring patients of varying sizes and degrees of mobility.
Appropriate competency in Meditech, Care Manager and knowledge of Outlook and MS Teams. Broad knowledge of provincial, regional, and local community resources. Minimum 1-year previous geriatric experience.
