You will work with a multidisciplinary to the full scope of an RN using evidence-based practices. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Must have 1-2 years of nursing experience at the bedside or in the emergency department within the last 5 years. Or have completed your final practicum in the Emergency Department.

Certification in the following courses is preferred: Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS), Current Trauma Nursing Course (TNCC), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
