Description
We are seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for the Opioid Dependency Program. The LPN is responsible for welcoming, providing medical oversight and supervision of the clients in the program. The LPN supports Case Management of the clients in the program through local and provincial resources including the Virtual Opiate Dependency Program. The LPN liaises with local partners to provide the best possible care to clients of the service. The LPN works collaboratively with other members of the team, other Addiction and Mental Health programs.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As required.
Class 5 Driver’s License. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) certification preferred. At least 1 year nursing experience in an Opiate Dependency Treatment program, Supervised Consumption Site, or other relevant Addiction and Mental Health setting within the last 5 years is preferred. Strong ability to create and manage complex care plans is preferred. Computer proficiency preferred. Connect Care is preferred.
