Description
South Zone leadership is excited to announce a recruitment opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Diagnostic Imaging at Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH). Reporting to the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse will work as an essential member of the CT team caring for all patients of varying acuity. The LPN works in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. The LPN monitors, plans, assists with imaging procedures, implements and evaluates care of patients and works in consultation with Physicians, RN’s, Technologists, and others to meet the needs of patients. The LPN works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to monitor the patient’s condition and care while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong prioritization and assessment skills and be able to show flexibility in a busy work environment. You will be accountable to the public for practice, responsible for ensuring that your practice meets legislative requirements and the practice standards defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
CVAD advanced training module. Experience and training in cardiac monitoring.
Previous experience working as an LPN in a diagnostic imaging department would be an asset. Experience providing excellent patient care and monitoring during medical procedures is an asset. Experience in maintaining a sterile environment, IV imaging contrast and facilitating conscious sedation during medical procedures preferred.
