Description
Ponoka, which means Elk in Blackfoot, serves a large First Nations community. Our town is a vibrant community with the amenities you would want and a neighborly atmosphere for you and your family. Ponoka is located along Highway 2 in the Battle River Valley within an hour drive to major cities. The Ponoka Home Care program serves a large area of clients including the community of Ponoka and surrounding areas. We work closely with community groups, other health care services in the community and as part of a multidisciplinary team. As members of the multidisciplinary health care team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) working within their scope of practice, collaborate on the delivery of care to meet the needs of clients. LPNs assist with the provision of nursing care to individuals in all developmental stages, contribute to the nursing diagnosis, and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum three (3) years community nursing experience. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks and may involve physical exertion not limited to climbing stairs, walking outside, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and carrying which may involve visits to client homes that are not ideal.
Experience with Connect Care, Care Manager, Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
