The Mental health relief team is a part of the Recovery Alberta portfolio in the Edmonton Zone, specifically at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. We provide patient and family-centered care, with all team members working within the CoACT collaborative care model. You would be reporting to the Central Service Manager while working on units within the site. Patient populations include Adult Acute, Forensic Tertiary Rehabilitation and Young Adults. The Licensed Practical Nurse - is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for adults presenting with acute and chronic addictions and mental health concerns. The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide safe, effective, and stage-matched nursing care according to clinical policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing care standards. The Licensed Practical Nurse works within a concurrent capable, recovery-oriented framework, within the context of a multidisciplinary team. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
