Description
Leduc Community Hospital, located 20 km south of Edmonton, provides a range of acute and outpatient care services, including a small IV Therapy and Ambulatory Care Department. We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. In this role, you will apply your full scope of practice, as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA), to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Key responsibilities include: Providing high-quality IV therapy and ambulatory care services. Providing education to patients and coordinating reassessments and follow-up visits Coordinating and communicating effectively with an interdisciplinary team. Managing scheduling and organizational tasks with precision. Demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient concerns efficiently. Working autonomously while fostering collaboration within a supportive team. The ideal candidate is self-driven, accountable, and skilled in time management, with a strong ability to adapt to new challenges and provide patient-centered care.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Possessing strong assessment, organizational, and patient care skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely. Holds a current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C) certification and Healthcare Provider Registration (certificate required). This role involves prolonged periods of standing and walking, along with physical tasks such as bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment.
Previous IV Therapy experience, ultrasound guided IV trained, Connect Care proficiency.
