As key members of the nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible to provide safe, person-centered nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for clients in continuing care settings. They collaborate with the interdisclipinary team, administer medications and treatments, and support clients in daily living to enhance their health and quality of life. This role focuses on Continuing Care at the Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, a 60-bed Type A facility that includes a secured unit of 40 dementia-care beds. Lloydminster is Canada's only border city, offering breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, vast farmlands, and rolling river hills. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Continuing Care nursing is preferred. Training in Connect Care and proficiency in general computer skills are also desirable. Experience with care planning and interRAI LTCF is beneficial, along with CCHSS education. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interdisciplinary team.
