The Logistician, Pharmacy Connect, Pharmacy Services is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the timely and safe movement of pharmacy goods between and within Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Covenant Health (CH) facilities. This includes proactively planning for future service changes and enhancements as well as responding to new or expanded service requirements as needs arise, in addition to developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, protocols, and relevant policies for Pharmacy staff to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and standards for the safe secure, and timely delivery of pharmaceuticals. Reporting to the Director, Central Production, Pharmacy Services, the Logistician will work with AHS and external contracted partners to plan and develop the transportation routes for Pharmacy Services, ensure coordination with logistics partners in the delivery of services, develop and ensure accountability to established procedures and service level agreements and serve as a point of escalation for any issues arising. The Logistician serves as the primary liaison between Pharmacy Operations and transportation providers (AHS or contracted vendors). Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong working relationships with AHS and Covenant Pharmacy working partners, receiving logistics services, and serving as the point of contact for inquiries, concerns, compliments, and improvement suggestions related to logistics and delivery services. In addition to their responsibilities for transportation and distribution of products, the Logistician will be responsible for the daily and ongoing logistics of products and inventory movement, including warehouse management (e.g., shipping, receiving, loading docks, etc.) for the Central Production Facilities (CPF).

Bachelor's Degree in business or a related discipline that includes customer service, logistics, and supply chain management, supplemented by CCIT-Certified Logistic Professional certification or similar designation indicating formal warehousing and/or supply chain and distribution training. A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a Logistics role, specializing in Transportation Management / Supply Chain functions, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity (multi-site operation and/or healthcare experience an asset).

Knowledge and a detailed understanding of a carrier profile, the authorities, certificates, and legislative programs, Transport of Dangerous Goods legislation, CSA standards, and Infection Prevention & Control policies and guidelines that provide compliance is essential. Demonstrated analytic and strategic abilities, critical thinking and practical approach to solving complex issues, and ability to establish and maintain a strong collaborative network.

Formal logistics, warehousing and/or supply chain and distribution training and relevant experience preferred.
