As part of the AHS MR Artificial Intelligence Implementation project, this position is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to advance the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in MR imaging provincially. This MR Project Lead - South position will be instrumental in successfully executing a province-wide initiative to enhance MR imaging throughput through the phased implementation of AI software upgrades and essential hardware enhancements across MR equipment in the southern parts of the province. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership to achieve the project's primary goal of increasing scan efficiency and reducing wait times and costs. The MR Project Lead - South will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, project coordinator, MR technologists, radiologists, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of upgraded systems, ultimately increasing accessibility of MR imaging services within the province and reducing wait times. The majority of the work for this position will be onsite in the Calgary Zone with some travel required in the South Zone. Please note, there are no staff supervision duties. This position will assist with supporting sites in making adjustments to patient flow and exam mix in relation to implementation of the AI software.

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist II, you will be a working supervisor responsible for the day-to- day operation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging services and provide technical assistance for staff. You will also organize and coordinate overall patient flow, including coordinating exam mix and weekly room schedules.

Completion of diploma from an accredited MRI Technologist Program recognized by the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) or completion of certification from an accredited MRI Technologist Program plus a diploma from an accredited Program in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound), Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy. Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Valid practice permit from the ACMDTT is required. Minimum of five years' experience as an MR technologist. Technical expertise in MRI software and hardware. Practical experience with Diagnostic Imaging quality initiatives. Work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Experience collaborating and working effectively with technical, clinical, and administrative personnel, and fostering relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong, adaptive communication skills utilizing a variety of modalities (verbal, written, active listening). Proficient computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office Suite [MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint]). Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize workload, and balance competing demands. Experience in change management with an emphasis on staff education and preceptorship. Prior experience facilitating, instructing, developing learning, precepting and/or teaching. Travel will be required, must possess valid driver’s license to conduct business at any AHS site.

Demonstrated experience with project management tools and processes. Process improvement courses and/or certification. Training/courses in leadership, conflict resolution, change management and communication. Equivalences of education and experience will be considered.
