The Peter Lougheed Centre is offering this opportunity for a Full Time, Maintenance Worker IV, Building Operator. This position is part of a shift rotation that covers the site 24 hours, 7 days a week. The PLC, FM&E department at the Peter Lougheed Centre is a fast-paced dynamic environment suitable to a highly motivated and energetic individual. You will be part of a diverse team that prioritizes patient care and leads in workplace safety.

As a Maintenance Worker IV, you will perform a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair work requiring considerable initiative and judgment in determining the appropriate work methods consistent with standards, regulations and procedures. You will utilize your supervisory and/or maintenance skills and experience to perform preventative maintenance and repair duties on specialized equipment and building control systems, and to provide leadership and direction to other maintenance staff in order to meet operational requirements. In addition, you will perform specialized machine repairs, as well as the maintenance and monitoring of systems and equipment. You may be responsible to resolve escalated operational issues; act as a delegate for the Manager on operational issues; participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff; assisting the design and implementation of preventative maintenance programs; estimate project costs; and liaise with outside agencies and contractors.

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or technical certification in a related field required or 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines where boiler support is necessary.

3+ years previous maintenance experience in building architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural and associated systems maintenance in an institutional setting. Very good verbal and written communication skills. Must be reliable, cooperative and capable of working independently. Must be a self-starter, possess initiative and be capable of giving direction and supervision as required. Must be familiar with a variety of tools and equipment used in the maintenance program. Must have good computer skills. Regular lifting of items up to 23kg (50lbs). N95/half mask fit test.

Previous experience with HVAC and computerized building controls systems an asset (JCI).
