An exciting opportunity exists for a temporary Mental Health Therapist in the NE Community Addictions and Mental Health Clinic, SMG. This position provides treatment to clients experiencing moderate to severe addiction and mental health issues using a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, ART, EMDR, DBT, ACT, MI, etc. The position reports directly to the Program Manager, Community Addictions and Mental Health - NE Campus. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. In accordance with the transition letter of understanding with UNA, current employees under the UNA Collective Agreement who accept an employment offer, issued after July 1, 2024, will not have any rights under Article 15: Layoff and Recall.

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

1-3 years' experience working within mental health providing formal therapy.

DBT and ART trained would be an asset.
