Description
The Lethbridge Youth Treatment Centre is looking to recruit a Mental Health Therapist to provide mental health and addiction case management, assessment, treatment planning and service delivery at this live in treatment program for youth struggling with mental health and addiction concerns. As the MHT on this multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be the lead service provider for the youth in the program and will be responsible for mental health and addiction assessment and collaborative treatment planning with youth and their families and/or support systems. The MHT is responsible for creating a service plan and delivering individual and family counselling aimed at supporting the recovery journeys for the youth in the program. This role will be the primary lead of family counselling in collaboration with the Clinical Supervisor. In addition to this, the MHT will also assist in program service delivery of psychoeducational and experiential groups, life skill building, therapeutic support in a live in treatment environment and providing day-to-day care and supervision of youth in the program. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of child development, addiction and mental health diagnosis and treatment, and skill in supporting youth and families with developing relapse prevention plans that address the transfer of the skills learned in this intensive treatment to the home and community environments. Evening and weekend work is required to support the needs of the families accessing this service. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Any outdoor, watersport or climbing certification. One year experience providing care to Youth in a bed-based care setting. One year experience providing care to individuals with addictions. Class IV.
