Description
Two Hills Health Centre has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist I working in their Stroke and Geriatric Empowerment (SAGE) Unit and Acute Care in the Two Hills Health Centre. The SAGE unit is a 12-bed assessment and short stay rehabilitation program designed for adults. The rehabilitation program is very successful in improving physical function and independence for clients admitted into the program. A large percent of clients admitted to the program return to their homes, lodges or assisted living facilities within their communities. The remaining clients are discharged to acute care or continuing care centres. As our Occupational Therapist I, you will be working both independently and as part of an interprofessional team, responsible for providing direct therapy provisions, assessing individual needs based on abilities, interactions and participation and follow-up with planning, implementing and evaluating safe quality programs aimed at enhancing optimal client function. Situated 135km east of Edmonton, Two Hills is an urban centre serving an agricultural region. Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas as well as several parks and playgrounds. The town has a grocery store, several restaurants, gas stations, two banks, various businesses, churches, two schools with kindergarten to grade 12, an arena and curling rink. Within a half-hour drive are three beautiful lakes ideal for camping and fishing.
