Description
Join our Cardiac Sciences Leadership team, which supports world class cardiac care in the Edmonton Zone and beyond! As the Patient Care Manager (PCM) you will be accountable for the following areas of care: Inpatient Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery, Ambulatory Clinics, Cardiac Diagnostics & the Cardiac Transition team at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and Virtual Home Hospital for Cardiac Sciences in the zone.
The Patient Care Manager role is a key leadership position supporting the Cardiac Sciences program. As the Patient Care Manager, you will utilize a number of your leadership skills to ensure high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family focused care for the above listed program areas. Working as part of a dyad relationship with defined medical leaders the key responsibilities for this role include: • Strategic planning including the development and implementation of plans that align with AHS’ overarching strategic plans, goals, values and vision • Program development and optimization within a fiscally constrained environment • Fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and safety for staff and patients • Effective management of fiscal, human, capital and equipment resources • Mentorship and guidance to support advancement of our workforce • Overall leadership within the Cardiac Sciences portfolio If you are passionate about improving health care and want to make a difference, this position might be right for you. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership success and will have strong communication, change management, team building and mentoring skills.
Minimum 3 years of recent operational leadership experience in an acute care setting required. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team. Registration with a health profession. Undergraduate degree in a clinical health care field.
