Description
As a Clinical Knowledge Lead (CKL)/Pharmacy Subject Matter Operational Readiness Expert (SMORE), you will report to the Clinical Knowledge and Content Management (CKCM) Program in the Chief Medical Information Office (CMIO) and to Pharmacy Informatics. Pharmacy CKL duties will be shared with another member of the CKCM and Pharmacy Informatics team. The CKL/SMORE role will utilize your pharmacy background and informatics system expertise to facilitate the development of provincial, cross-continuum knowledge and guidance. You will collaborate with both clinical and analyst partners to facilitate the incorporation of clinical decision support, order sets, and relevant performance indicators into the clinical informatics system. Involvement in select provincial committees and working groups is required to bridge understanding between clinical and analyst teams. The CKL/SMORE will require the demonstrated ability to think critically and systematically to recognize impact of system changes and work to achieve quality outcomes. Key skills required for this position include adaptability, creative problem-solving, and the ability to investigate and to test in-system configuration options. The CKL/SMORE must also be highly organized, have the ability to work both collaboratively and with a high degree of independence, have a client-focused orientation and a strong commitment to providing quality services. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills will also be required to foster relationships with key partners, influence best possible outcomes and promote change in a positive manner.
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Minimum of 10 years experience as a clinical pharmacist and/or pharmacist working within the field of clinical informatics Project lead experience with demonstrated ability to positively promote the change process and interface with key partners to discuss issues and work towards resolution.
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Subject Matter Operations Readiness Expert (SMORE) or with clinical information system support is preferred. Completion of a Master’s degree and/or designation as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) is an asset.
