In this exciting and unique opportunity, you will gain a breadth of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. This role will perform all aspects of drug distribution to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs leading to safe and effective patient care. Core duties include but not limited to: Order Entry, preparation, repackaging and final product checking of sterile and non-sterile products, individual patient prescriptions, and ward stock. You will have the opportunity to provide guidance and assist with the training and orientation of staff and students. The Pharmacy Technician will also provide clinical support through problem solving activities and discrepancies to support the provision of direct patient care. Your proactive approach while building strong relationships and collaborating with all members of the healthcare team is paramount to the continued success of our team and culture.

As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Demonstrated computer or word processing skills. Committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.

Prior hospital experience. Prior experience in retail pharmacy setting. Membership with a pharmacy professional organization is preferred.
