Description
This is a Multisite position, covering Bentley Long Term Care Centre and Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre, which will be the home site. Lacombe is a lovely city located in Central Alberta, 20 minutes north of Red Deer on the QE II. Lacombe has a wide variety of recreation amenities and facilities including the Kinsmen Aquatic Centre, Barnett Arenas, sports fields and ball diamonds, and trails and campgrounds galore! A regional public transit service connects Lacombe, Blackfalds and Red Deer and is an important quality of life benefit to those who prefer small town living. Lacombe is surrounded by parks and lakes and is a little piece of heaven right here on earth! Bentley is located in the Blindman River Valley between Sylvan Lake and Gull Lake and is 40 km from Red Deer, with a population of 1,078. The town prides itself on ‘being alive with community spirit.’ The community offers its residents a friendly, safe, and small town lifestyle while also benefiting from the close proximity to big-city amenities. The town’s amenities are inclusive of many retail businesses and restaurants as well as ball diamonds, a museum, campground, an arena, curling club and the Medicine Hill Ski Area - a little bit of something for everyone!
As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Completed and up to date BLS.
