The East Calgary Family Care Clinic is known for providing comprehensive primary care to people living in East Calgary with complex needs. This could be any combination of chronic illnesses, mental health concerns and social or economic factors that negatively impact health. Working within a large interdisciplinary team, the physiotherapist will conduct assessments and provide diagnoses, treatments and care planning for clients with physical or functional mobility deficits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a primary care setting within an interdisciplinary team, providing services to a diverse and complex client group. This role will involve both collaborative and independent practice as well as program and role development. The PT ensures that their practice is evidence based, client centered, and meets the physical therapy standards of practice.

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

3-5 years clinical experience in providing care to individuals and their families Experience in orthopedic care BCLS-HCP required Must be able to use independent judgment and initiative to determine most appropriate treatment and setting Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team Self-directed with effective communication, organizational and time management skills Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patients & families Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a complex and rapidly changing environment. May involve working with clients who present criminal or suicidal tendencies, potential exposure to violence and aggression.

Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. 2 years clinical experience in providing care to individuals and their families in a community / outpatient setting. Experience with complex chronic disease clients in a community setting. AADL Authorizer an asset. Pelvic floor physio experiences an asset. Dry Needling / IMS certificate an asset.
