We are looking for a Physiotherapist I to join the Allied Health department at the Leduc Community Hospital where you'll be part of a dynamic healthcare team dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care. The physiotherapy department works collaboratively with all clinical teams within the hospital such as Family Medicine, Post acute and Emergency. This position may provide coverage to all service areas listed above. As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.
Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
You must be highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. Proficient problem-solving skills, including analytical thinking and conflict resolution/negotiation, are required. Effective written, verbal, communication, and computer skills are required. Strong and effective leadership skills, as well as organizational skills are required. The successful incumbent will be capable of performing lifts, transfers, repositioning, and other physically demanding and repetitive activities associated with this role. You are a reliable worker who is flexible in using their time effectively by prioritizing competing tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Basic computer skills, and ability navigating Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records are required. A minimum of 6 months Acute Care experience working as a Physiotherapist in the last 3 years required. New graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered. Completion of master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience
Experience with Connect Care (electronic medical record) is considered an asset.
