Give Life Alberta is a provincial program dedicated to the delivery of organ and tissue donation services throughout Alberta. The work of Give Life Alberta will ensure that the opportunity to discuss organ and tissue donation is a consistent component of end-of-life care and will increase access to life saving and life changing organ and tissue transplantation. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Analyst leads all aspects of data management and quality, extraction, analytics, statistics, reporting and clinical informatics.

The Senior Analyst is responsible for the reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of data for public and internal use. This person will establish, cultivate, and sustain relationships with clinical, analytic, administrative, executive, and academic partners, and provincial and national agencies. The Senior Analyst will directly perform data extraction from a number of clinical systems, databases, and data warehouses. As such, the incumbent will require a high degree of technical skill. The incumbent will lead the development of program reports. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all information released by the program is completely and consistently accurate. As a public facing program, erroneous reporting has potential to result in reputational harm and erosion of public trust. Data management is a major component of this role including quality assurance monitoring and identification of issues, training of staff, definition of data fields, standardization of data entry and queries of program data for purposes of evaluation of outcomes, program statistics and research. The Senior Analyst will contribute to identifying opportunities for performance improvements within the donation system, supporting decision making and performance management. All Give Life Alberta staff may occasionally be required to participate in public awareness and community engagement initiatives and events. Give Life Alberta is a virtual office, and this position is a remote work arrangement opportunity.

Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., informatics, biostatistics, epidemiology).

Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical information and clinical outcomes to support accurate analysis and interpretation of data. Experience with key performance indicators in a healthcare setting. Experience working with large longitudinal datasets. Demonstrated working knowledge of statistical analysis methods and applications. Strong understanding of relational database concepts. Ability to clean and preprocess data to remove inconsistencies and errors, including data transformation, data normalization, and data aggregation. Experience with business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with PL/SQL, MSSQL, SAS, TOAD or other data extraction and management tools. Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau). Experience working with internal and external stakeholders. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and ability to meet deadlines. Experience developing formal reports. Must have strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Strong ability to take initiative, and work independently, as well as in a team environment. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues. Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and to maintain confidentiality.

Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Clinical Epidemiology with 1 - 2 years of relevant experience. Five years of work experience in a health care sector, or a combination of equivalent experience and education. Experience in organ and tissue donation and transplantation strongly preferred. Experience with iTransplant. Experience with Connect Care (Epic).
