This position reports directly to the Manager, Warehouse Operations and is responsible for a Stores II and a team of Stores Attendants. This position is responsible for the timely, efficient and effective picking, order assembly and replenishment operations within the Distribution Centre (DC). Ensure compliance to Standard Operating procedures, WHMIS regulations and Occupational Health and Safety regulations. Continually promote and maintain effective communication with staff, inventory control, purchasing, Site Services Manager & Supervisors and end users. AHS offers a competitive compensation package. This position schedule is from Sunday through Thursday evening from 1445 - 2300 hours. This position is responsible for the timely, efficient and effective picking, order assembly and replenishment operations within the Distribution Centre (DC). Responsible for coaching, motivating, and monitoring current staff to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. Prepare and conduct employee performance evaluations and handle disciplinary matters in conjunction with Manager. Continuously evaluate current warehouse operating procedures and evaluate alternative methods to improve efficiencies. Ensure on-going innovation in all areas of warehousing operations. Conduct cycle counts and other warehouse inventory integrity processes (such as locator checks, expiry checks, bulk checks) to assist the inventory group in maintaining inventory integrity. Participate and provide primary input in establishing work measurements and performance standards in conjunction with fellow lead-hands and Warehouse Operations Supervisor. Ensure that accurate daily activity reports are reviewed and provided summary of activity and performance results to Warehouse Operations Manager on a monthly basis. Responsible for scheduling of work for staff on shift Accountable for managing all staff hours of work including overtime and additional hours. Support, initiate and promote Quality Assurance processes In line with AHS policies and initiatives. Review pay/time sheets and staff responsibility. Manage holiday schedules and associated staffing compliment. Work prioritization, work scheduling and conflict resolution. Responsible for high-level of service to end-users.

This position shall recruit, hire and conduct progressive discipline and performance evaluations of In-scope. Responsible for effective and efficient operations of the Distribution Centre facilities. Includes shipping, receiving, warehouse management and picking of all inventory supply orders. Responsible management and oversite of inventory integrity of supplies. Responsible for the process of planning, implementing and controlling the effective flow of goods and materials from the Distribution Centre’s to all end-users. Responsible for effective and efficient management of all activities involved in the pick, pack and shipping supply orders as well as replenishment functions at the Distribution Centre’s including all day-to-day operations. Promotes and ensures a safe workplace, works within the Workplace Health and Safety Guidelines promoted by Alberta Health Services. Responsible for ensuring all staff are provided training and ongoing recertification necessary to complete operations at the Distribution Centers.

In addition, the incumbent will possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas: Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing diverse team of employees within a unionized sector. Particular attention is given to managing process and people towards maximum productivity and end user fill rates while reducing errors in picking and receiving. Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, mentoring and teaching. Ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Client focused orientation and commitment to provide quality services. Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills.

A post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management. Minimum of five years operations management related to warehousing, inventory control and pick, pack, shipping, replenishment and receiving. Previous three years supervisory experience in the health care field in a unionized environment would be an asset.
