This temporary full-time opportunity will be based out of the Canmore General Hospital and will be focused on supporting Rehabilitation programming in the facility as well as in the community. The Therapy Assistant provides rehab services within the Canmore hospital, primarily supporting Acute Care and Long Term Care and will also have the opportunity to provide support to outpatient and home care services. The Therapy Assistant functions as an integral member of the inter-professional team. Canmore General Hospital has 21 Medical / Surgical / Obstetrics beds and 23 Long Term Care beds and provides outpatient physiotherapy services for Canmore and area. Under the guidance of the OT / PT / SLP, the TA provides individual and group treatment interventions, supports the rehab team with the maintenance and ordering of rehab supplies and equipment, and participates in program planning and development. Occasional travel to support home care clients is required. Reporting to the Rural Allied Health Manager (Adults), the Therapy Assistant will work with our existing rehabilitation team to provide integrated rehabilitation services across the continuum of health services. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning and student supervision.
