Description
The Unit Clerk at the Redwater Health Centre is responsible for managing the flow of information and providing clerical support to staff and physicians in the Emergency / Acute Care and Long Term Care. The Unit Clerk completes admin tasks which include staffing, payroll and purchasing. The Town of Redwater is situated in beautiful northern Alberta, one hour north of Edmonton. As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Experience working in a Unit Clerk position; (Emergency/Acute Care setting preferred). Basic typing skills and experience working with computers including applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Excel. Well-developed and demonstrated conflict resolution skills. Ability to prioritize work and effectively work with frequent interruptions, noise and nearby distractions. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. An excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability must be demonstrated through employment references.
